Becoming the best we can

Learning at home

Home learning (also known as homework) is work set by a pupil’s teacher to be completed at home outside of school hours. The aim is to encourage all children to become accomplished, Independent learners in order to maximise their potential.

Please see our Home Learning Policy for more information.

Remote Learning

While we recognise the importance of in-person learning, we are aware that sometimes this is not possible. Remote learning allows children to continue their learning from home when they are unable to be in school. Teachers can provide lessons and activities that are fun, engaging, and easy to follow. Families are supported throughout, and children are encouraged to learn at their own pace.

In line with government guidance, we would only provide remote education:

  • As a last resort in circumstances such as school closure or restrictions on attendance (e.g. for public-health or safety reasons).
  • In individual cases where a child is unable to attend school temporarily (e.g. short-term illness, recovery from injury or surgery) — but only when the child is well enough to continue learning.

We will keep parents updated about our remote-education procedures and provision in the event that it becomes necessary.
