We are delighted to share the findings of our most recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on the 23rd and 24th June 2026.
Frampton Cotterell CofE Primary School has achieved the ‘Expected Standard‘ in six areas of the current inspection framework and the ‘Strong Standard‘ in one area. We are also pleased to confirm that safeguarding standards have been met.
The report highlights many strengths across our school, particularly our commitment to pupils’ personal development. Inspectors recognised the wide range of enrichment opportunities we provide, the meaningful leadership roles and responsibilities that pupils undertake, and the strong values that underpin school life. We are especially proud that inspectors captured this by stating:
“The school motto of ‘becoming the best we can’ exemplifies the school’s commitment to the personal development of pupils.”
The report also reflects the positive experiences of our pupils, noting that they “enjoy their learning and typically achieve well at this school” and are “proud of their school.”

In April 2025, we had our SIAMs Inspection (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools). The report shows we are living up to our foundation as a Church school and are enabling pupils and adults to flourish. The full report can be found using the link below.
The strengths highlighted in the report are:
• Leaders have a clear, strategic plan that prioritises spiritual growth in addition to academic excellence. This ensures that pupils, including those considered vulnerable, are able to thrive.
• The deeply rooted Christian vision drives leaders’ work to ensure the school community lives well together. Through this compassionate and outward-looking culture, pupils and adults flourish in an inclusive environment where they feel free to be themselves.
• The wider curriculum offer is strong and supports the spiritual development of pupils. A shared language of spirituality is widely used and understood. This ensures they can express the impact of opportunities for spiritual development upon them.
• Collective worship is inclusive, vibrant and joyful. Consequently, pupils are engaged and calm, valuing the safe space for reflection and contemplation that is created.
• Religious education (RE) lessons are well-sequenced and varied, motivating pupils to think about their own beliefs and those of others. For this reason, RE makes a significant contribution to their spiritual development, deepening their understanding of a range of worldviews and faiths.
We are really proud of our 2026 Key Stage 2 results.
Reading – 86.7% of pupils achieved the expected standard and 48.9% achieved greater depth.
Writing – 88.9% of pupils achieved the expected standard and 13.3% achieved greater depth.
Maths – 91.1% of pupils achieved the expected standard and 37.8% achieved greater depth.
Combined (reading, writing and maths) – 80% of our pupils achieved the expected standard and 11.1% achieved greater depth.
