Becoming the best we can

Reception classes – EYFS

Welcome to Reception!

The Reception Class Teachers are:

  • Mrs Phelps (Monday and Tuesday) and Mrs Hodge (Wednesday to Friday) – Class 1/Sparrow
  • Mrs Mustafa – Class 2/Wren Class

We are excited to welcome your family to Frampton and to support your children as they continue their learning journey through the Early Years Foundation Stage . We encourage curiosity, independence and confidence through an inspiring curriculum and a nurturing, safe, and inclusive environment.

We plan for the seven areas of learning through our exciting topics:

  • Autumn 1 : Incredible Me!
  • Autumn 2: Celebrations
  • Spring 1: Once Upon a Time
  • Spring 2: Spring into Action
  • Summer 1: The Great Outdoors
  • Summer 2: Off On An Adventure

Alongside this, learning is inspired by the children’s own interests, which they are encouraged to explore during daily Child Initiated Learning.

Learning is further enriched through special curriculum days. There are opportunities to connect with the Frampton area and to express their growing creativity throughout Art Week. We visit Bridge House to sing for the residents and celebrate the meaning of Christmas with our Nativity.

Beat Bus music sessions with a teacher from South Gloucestershire Music Centre are great fun and the children love to share the new songs and dances they have learned in our family concert each year

We also love dressing up for World Book Day where we share our favourite books and listen to visiting authors.

We enjoy exploring local wildlife areas, baking bread and visiting the local library. Our termly Faith Days are an opportunity to introduce World Faiths to our children and visits to St. Peter’s Church foster a feeling of being part of the church family.

As a team, we work with our families during your child’s first year at school and support all children to become the best they can in our school community and wider world.
