Years 1 and 2

Welcome to Key stage One!

The KS1 class teachers are:

• Mrs Hudson (Mon-Wed) & Mrs Walsh-Young (Thu-Fri) – Class 3/Goldfinches (Y1)
• Mrs Dymock – Class 4/Robins (Y1/2)
• Mrs Claridge – Class 5/Kingfisher (Y2)

From the charming adventures of Paddington Bear to stepping back in time to witness the dramatic events of the Great Fire of London, and journeying across the seas to uncover the wonders of the rainforest—our pupils will embark on a mix of exciting topics that are engaging and thought-provoking.

Topics for the year include:

• Paddington comes to Frampton
• Magical Journeys
• The Great Fire of London
• Once Upon a Time
• Rainforests
• A Walk in the Woods

These topics are not only fun, but they also give students a chance to dive deeper into the world around them.  During the Autumn term, they’ll visit the Bridge House Miniature Railway and invite their teddies along for a picnic with Paddington Bear.

Throughout the year, we also host a variety of exciting experiences, like a visit from friendly reptiles during our rainforest theme and even recreating the Great Fire of London by burning our Tudor houses in the playground!

On top of all of these hands-on experiences, we’re excited for our festive nativity! Students will come together to create a fantastic show, with Year 1 dancing and Year 2 showing off their acting skills. It’s a wonderful opportunity for them to build confidence, work as a team, and tap into their creativity.

This year will be packed with exploration, creativity, and memories to last a lifetime. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things your child will accomplish!
