Starting School

Each September an official application pack is sent to parents by South Gloucestershire County Council.  Applications can then be made online, or by post, offers of places are made in the spring term.  Should you not receive your first choice, the appeals procedure can be followed on the South Gloucestershire admissions website page.

During the summer term, prior to children starting school, parents are invited into school, to have a look around and meet the adults who will be involved with their children during that first, very important year.  Children who go to the local Crossbow Nursery, and other local preschools will visit us with their current settings for several morning sessions.  Parents whose children don't go to preschool are also welcome at attend these mornings.

On the first day of the Autumn term, parents of the reception children are invited into school, accompanied by their children to meet the class teachers.  The Receptions then begin on the second day of term.

As soon as the school has received the paperwork for your child’s place with us, we are able to arrange a starting date for your child. We will await your call to confirm you still want the place and to arrange when your child can start with us. We are also able to offer taster days so that your child gets a chance to familiarise them selves with the school before starting full time with us.
